Mohbad's Widow Accuses Social Media Figure of Harassment and Spreading Falsehoods

Wunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has publicly accused social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) of persistent harassment and the dissemination of false information concerning her husband's death and their son, Liam.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Wunmi alleged that VDM is actively obstructing the pursuit of justice for Mohbad while simultaneously casting doubt on the paternity of their child. "For nearly two years, Vincent, I have endured your harassment, false narratives, and attempts to obstruct justice for my late husband, Mohbad," she wrote. "Despite my silence, you have continued to spread misinformation, even going so far as to question the paternity of our son, Liam."
She clarified that her period of silence was not an indication of weakness, but rather a respectful period of mourning, allowing the legal system to run its course. Wunmi also addressed past allegations of disagreements with Mohbad, stating that arguments are normal in relationships. She referenced a specific incident where she recorded Mohbad after he experienced trauma from an encounter with NDLEA officers. "Couples argue, and it’s normal," she explained. "I’d like to remind you that I recorded my husband during an episode he had after suffering trauma at the hands of some NDLEA officers. I played the recording back to him, and he apologized. We then moved forward, got married, and had a child."
Wunmi criticized VDM for what she perceives as his support of individuals who allegedly bullied and exploited Mohbad before his passing. Regarding the ongoing discussions about Liam's paternity, she reiterated her willingness to cooperate with a DNA test when her father-in-law is ready and her lawyers are involved. "Regarding the DNA test, I’ve stated repeatedly that I’m willing to cooperate when my father-in-law is ready, and my lawyers are handling it according to the law. However, I will not be dictated to or commanded by you or anyone aside from those mentioned," she stated.
She issued a strong warning to VDM, demanding he cease interfering in her life and respect her personal boundaries. "Let this serve as a final warning: I will no longer respond to your messages or engage with you in any way or form. Because the last time I checked, you’re just one of the benefactors of my husband’s death who bullied his immediate family and used his death to gain popularity and fame," she wrote.
Wunmi concluded her statement by advising VDM to focus on his own family matters rather than involving himself in hers. "If you’re genuinely concerned about DNA testing, I suggest you start by questioning your own paternity. Mind your business and leave me and my family out of your vindictive pursuits," she said.
