Mohbad's Widow Exposes Man Threatening Her and Son, Demands DNA Test
The widow of late Nigerian musician Mohbad, known as Wunmi, has publicly identified a man she alleges is threatening her and her two-year-old son, Liam. This revelation has ignited renewed public concern surrounding the circumstances of Mohbad's death and the subsequent disputes over his estate.
Wunmi took to social media, sharing images of Ayodele Famuyiwa, whom she identifies as the power of attorney for her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba. She accused Famuyiwa of conducting harassing live broadcasts on TikTok, where he allegedly made threats against her and her child.
In a direct statement posted on her Instagram account, Wunmi claimed Famuyiwa has "openly threatened to harm me and my child," and has repeatedly vowed to prevent Liam from inheriting his father's royalties. She further stated that Famuyiwa, despite residing in New Mexico, USA, has orchestrated a campaign of intimidation against her in Nigeria for over 15 months since Mohbad's passing.
"FACE OF A BULLY. Ayodele Famuyiwa, my father-in-law’s Power of Attorney and spokesperson, lives in New Mexico, USA. For over 15 months, you have bullied me. You have dragged my name through the mud," she wrote.
Wunmi emphasized her demand for a DNA test to confirm Liam's paternity, asserting that once the test is conducted, Famuyiwa and her father-in-law will be obligated to respect Mohbad's legacy and cease their alleged harassment. She stated "He knows once the DNA is done, he will be left with no choice than to bury my husband."
She also claimed, “Ayodele Famuyiwa, has threatened to take Liam out of the way, he’s my father-in-law power of attorney, Nigerians, please help me to beg my father-in-law to do DNA, if not for anything but for the sake of MOHBAD.” Wunmi explained her previous silence, attributing it to "seventeen months of relentless bullying" and fearing for her and her son's safety. She claims to have been ready for the DNA test since 2023, but lacked the courage to speak out due to constant media attacks. She further expressed her desire for her late husband to be given a proper burial, and for the ongoing disputes to be resolved.
