South Africa 🇿🇦: Lady Du Expands Empire with Launch of ‘Sip of Piano’ Wine Brand
Amapiano powerhouse Lady Du is finally raising a glass to her new business. The highly acclaimed musician and producer announced the launch of her wine brand, aptly titled "Sip of Piano," marking her latest move in a strategic pivot to serial entrepreneurship.
Umsebenzi Wethu star took to Instagram to announce the news, revealing that the journey to the bottle was paved with major personal and financial compromise.
"From Zero to Global"
In a heartfelt and candid post, Lady Du spoke to the challenges of establishing a brand from scratch. She shared that both her forthcoming book and the new wine line were fully self-funded, which had at one point resulted in her bank account being emptied.
"Don’t ever let your ideas live in your head, you won’t see how far you can push yourself," she wrote. "At some point I got to zero, even got robbed of my savings, but because I’m consistent in prayer, God has never ever left my side."
The launch of Sip of Piano is a continuation of a bigger mission for the artist, which is to prove that female entrepreneurs can capture the boardroom just like the charts. According to Lady Du, the engine behind the dreams to succeed in the business world is the musician within her, but it is not the sole source of the security that she enjoys.
The project is self-financed, which is 100% owned by the individual.
Overcoming the setback of having her savings stolen when working on the development stage.
Emphasizing "securing herself" so that she never has to depend on her voice alone for financial support.
Despite her busy schedule with business ventures, Lady Du assured her "Pianos," or fans, that new music is coming in 2026. Lady Du was grateful for the streams and bookings that gave her the funding to "push the boundaries" of her brand.
“I am more than a musician,” she said. “I am an entrepreneur who is utilizing music to turn my dreams into reality.”
