Nigeria π³π¬: Solomon Buchi Blasts Influencer Peller Over 'Harassment' in Restaurant Incident
Life coach and social media commentator Solomon Buchi has sparked a heated online debate after publicly calling out popular content creator Peller for his behavior toward a female staff member at a local restaurant.
The controversy began following a viral video showing Peller engaging in a high-energy, disruptive stunt at an eatery. While fans of the influencer often praise his chaotic brand of humor, Buchi took to social media to label the encounter as a clear case of harassment, sparking a wider conversation about "clout culture" and public decency.
Buchi did not hold back in his assessment of the situation, suggesting that the rise of digital influencers has lowered the bar for acceptable social behavior.
"This is what happens when stupidity and illiteracy are given a platform," Buchi stated. "Peller was clearly harassing the young woman."
The commentator further argued that the influencer’s status creates a power imbalance that prevents businesses from enforcing standard rules of conduct. Buchi claimed that the restaurant's security was likely "held hostage" by Peller’s massive online following.
"The reason security didn't kick him out is because, if they did, he would make a video and damage the restaurant's reputation," Buchi explained. He added a scathing comparison to international standards, asserting, "He wouldn't dare try this abroad."
Beyond the specific incident, Buchi directed his frustration toward the audience that fuels such content. In a caption accompanying the video, he questioned the societal impact of elevating "irritants" to stardom for the sake of entertainment.
"If you're part of the people that platformed this irritant, I hope you can see the pain you're causing the society," he wrote.
The incident has divided social media users. Supporters of Peller argue that the influencer is simply "performing" and providing harmless comedy, while critics agree with Buchi, citing a growing trend of service workers being used as "props" for viral content without their consent.
Peller has yet to issue a formal response to Buchi’s specific allegations.
