Kenya π°πͺ:Kenyan Content Creator M Ably Issues Stern Advice to IShowSpeed Ahead of Kenya Tour
As global streaming sensation IShowSpeed prepares to touch down in Kenya for his highly anticipated "Speed Does Africa" tour, local content creator M Ably has sparked a debate by issuing a firm warning regarding the streamer's itinerary.
In a recent video addressing the American YouTuber's upcoming visit, M Ably cautioned against the typical "ghetto" tours that international creators often gravitate towards, urging Speed’s handlers to showcase the more upscale and polished sides of the country instead.
M Ably’s message was clear: Kenya has more to offer than just its low-income areas. Using the Swahili phrase "Mtembeze barabara kali kali" (which translates to "Take him through the best/high-end roads"), he insisted that Speed should see the modern infrastructure and luxury that Nairobi and other major cities provide.
M Ably expressed that constant focus on "the ghetto" by international visitors can create a one-dimensional and sometimes negative perception of the country.
He suggested that Speed should be taken to areas that highlight Kenya's development, premium shopping malls, and world-class scenery.
While not explicitly mentioned as the primary reason, the advice also aligns with safety concerns often raised when high-profile celebrities enter densely populated urban areas without massive security details.
The comments have ignited a conversation within the Kenyan "KOT" (Kenyans on Twitter/X) community and across TikTok.
Supporters of M Ably’s view argue that Kenya deserves to be branded as a modern, thriving hub. "We are tired of seeing only the struggles on international vlogs. Show them the Expressway and the skyscrapers!" one fan commented.
Critics, however, argue that IShowSpeed’s brand is built on raw, chaotic, and "street" energy. They believe that taking him to "Barabara kali kali" might result in a boring stream that lacks the authentic Kenyan spirit found in the grassroots.
IShowSpeed (Darren Watkins Jr.) officially began his 28-day tour of 20 African countries at the end of December 2025. With stops already made in South Africa and Angola, the streamer has seen massive crowds and high-energy interactions.
The Kenyan leg of the tour is expected to be one of the largest, given Speed's massive following in East Africa. Whether his team heeds M Ably’s advice or heads straight for the "trenches" remains to be seen.
