(Nigeria πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ ) Sophia Momodu: I've Waived All Child Support and Been Imade's Primary Caregiver for Five Years

Sophia Momodu, the mother of Imade Adeleke, has released a comprehensive statement addressing what she termed "false narratives" circulating on social media regarding the welfare and custody of her daughter with music star Davido (David Adeleke).

The full statement, shared via her personal notes, provides extensive details on her role as a mother, the financial arrangements, and the emotional commitment to her child's well-being.

Primary Care and Financial Responsibility

In a key part of the statement, Momodu directly asserted her role as the primary guardian for their daughter, Imade.

"To further emphasize my commitment to my daughter's well-being, I have been her primary caregiver for the past five years. I have handled all of her expenses except for school fees, which her paternal grandparent has kindly covered for the past three years. I have not received child support from her father, but our child knows no lack. She is growing in a healthy environment and is very happy."

Momodu also disclosed a significant decision regarding the financial agreement:

"In an effort to reaffirm my commitment to her happiness, I recently waived all outstanding child support payments and relinquished future claims. This decision has left me fully responsible for our child's financial needs, which is a welcomed development by both parties."

This relinquishment of future child support claims marks a definitive step by Momodu to take full financial responsibility, effectively ending the dependency on her daughter's father for ongoing maintenance.

Protecting the Child and Co-Parenting

The statement was framed as a direct reaction to posts that were "intentionally targeted" at her daughter and sought to "portray a false image of her well-being." Momodu stressed her commitment to co-parenting while prioritizing Imade's safety and emotional health.

She confirmed her daughter is a "happy, healthy, and well-rounded child."

She emphasized the importance of Imade having a relationship with both parents, stating, "I have never denied her father access or a relationship."

Momodu reiterated her focus on prioritizing her daughter's "safety and structured schedules."
