Nigeria 🇳🇬: Sophia Momodu Claps Back at Critics Over Daughter Imade’s Absence from Davido’s Birthday

"Leave My Child Alone!" Momodu Addresses Fan Queries on Snapchat

Sophia Momodu, the mother of Afrobeats superstar Davido's first daughter, Imade Adeleke, has publicly responded to individuals questioning Imade's absence from her father's recent birthday celebrations. Momodu took to her Snapchat story to issue a strong statement against what she terms a "false narrative" that has persisted for over a decade.

The controversy was sparked when a user, identified as "MOTOLA," messaged Momodu directly on the platform, asking: "Sophia why don't you allow you daughter to celebrate with his dad."

Momodu did not hold back in her reply, emphasizing her role as a protective parent and demanding that her daughter be kept out of the ongoing public scrutiny.

> "You people have been doing this false narrative thing for over 10yrs now & while I try to be as graceful as I can, I'm also a fiercely protective mother," Momodu wrote on her Snapchat story. "Say whatever you want about me it's ok. But LEAVE MY CHILD ALONE! This needs to stop! This is non negotiable! Imade is not a bargaining chip to get her mother to conform."

Her post underscores a strong stance against public pressure regarding her co-parenting relationship with Davido, insisting that her daughter's welfare and privacy are paramount.

The celebrity mother's firm response highlights the challenges of co-parenting in the public eye, particularly for figures associated with one of Africa's biggest music stars. Momodu has consistently sought to shield her daughter, Imade, from the frequent media attention and fan speculation surrounding her relationship with Davido and the extended Adeleke family.
