South Africa ๐ฟ๐ฆ: South African Actress Lerato Nxumalo Pursues Legal Action Against Musa Khawula Over Husband Photo Claims
South African actress Lerato Nxumalo has announced she is pursuing legal action against entertainment commentator Musa Khawula and various online platforms following the viral spread of claims regarding a photograph of her husband.
The controversy arose after Khawula and several blogs, TikTok accounts, and YouTube channels circulated information alleging a negative implication tied to a picture of Nxumalo's husband.
Nxumalo took to her Instagram Story to issue a strong statement, directly addressing those who amplified the claims.
"to all the blogs, TikTok users, YouTube channels and anyone else that has posted me in the past 48 hours with this information as factual," her statement read. "It has not only affected an innocent person's life but also that of my husband."
The actress made it clear that she and her husband view the matter with utmost seriousness. "We are not taking this lightly and all the relevant people will be contacted by our legal representatives," she concluded, signaling an imminent legal battle against all parties involved in disseminating the information as fact.
The move underscores a growing trend of public figures turning to legal remedies to combat the spread of what they deem to be defamatory or false information on social media and digital platforms. Khawula, known for his controversial takes and reporting on South African celebrities, has faced legal threats in the past.
At the time of reporting, Khawula has not publicly responded to Nxumalo's statement. The legal action is expected to focus on defamation and the emotional distress caused by the unverified claims.
