Offset Breaks Silence: Denies Saweetie Affair, Reflects on Cardi B Split and Personal Growth
American rapper Kiari Cephus, professionally known as Offset, has finally addressed the persistent romantic rumors linking him to fellow rapper Saweetie, while also offering a candid look at the breakdown of his highly publicized marriage to Cardi B.
In a recent interview with actress and singer Keke Palmer, the former Migos member unequivocally denied the allegations of an affair. "That whole Saweetie thing was just weird," Offset stated, dismissing the cheating rumors as "strange and unnecessary."
Admitting Marital Fault
The conversation quickly shifted to his separation from Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B, a split that has generated significant public attention. Offset took responsibility for the dissolution of their marriage, admitting that his past actions were the cause.
“I messed up, and it cost me my marriage,” he confessed. The rapper acknowledged that his own infidelity and poor choices created insurmountable cracks in their relationship, leading to the separation.
Despite the split, Offset maintained that he still holds deep respect for his estranged wife, even describing her affectionately as “bro.” He also revealed that their divorce is not yet final, suggesting the legal chapter of their relationship is still open.
Focused on Healing and Future
The interview also provided a window into Offset’s personal struggles and his current path toward self-improvement. He spoke openly about dealing with profound grief following the tragic death of his cousin and Migos bandmate, Takeoff, in 2022.
Now, the rapper insists he is committed to turning over a new leaf. “I’m focused on becoming a better man now,” he added, crediting therapy and faith for helping him to overcome past addiction issues and find a sense of peace. The star appears determined to move forward, focusing on his personal well-being and career while navigating the complexities of his public life.
