Nigeria 🇳🇬: Tacha Completes Grueling 24-Hour Marathon with 145 Makeovers, Awaits Guinness World Record Confirmation

Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has successfully concluded her ambitious attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the Most Cosmetic Makeovers by an Individual in 24 Hours.

The makeup marathon, which was the centerpiece of the Tacha Beauty Festival, wrapped up late Sunday evening at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History in Lagos. Despite facing technical hurdles, including a brief power outage in the early hours of the challenge, Tacha achieved a remarkable total of 145 makeovers within the 24-hour window.

The previous record, held by Mary Yongai of Sierra Leone, was set at 111 cosmetic makeovers in 24 hours. Tacha’s successful completion of 145 makeovers significantly surpasses this benchmark.

A Display of Resilience and Artistry

The non-stop challenge saw Tacha apply makeup to 145 models, comprising both men and women, who represented a diverse range of skin tones and body types. Each transformation was meticulously documented with professional headshots and a runway showcase as part of the official verification process.

The event, which drew significant public and media attention, highlighted the resilience of the Nigerian star.

"This is more than a record attempt," Tacha stated previously. "It is a statement that Nigerian creativity and excellence can compete anywhere in the world."

The venue was filled with supporters, including prominent Nigerian celebrities and public figures such as Alex Unusual, Toke Makinwa, Ice Prince, and government officials from the Lagos State tourism sector, who were present to witness and encourage the feat.

Awaiting Official Verification

While the marathon session is complete and the impressive count of 145 has been recorded, Tacha and her team will now submit the extensive documentation to the Guinness World Records (GWR) headquarters for a thorough review and official verification.

If confirmed by GWR, the record will not only crown Tacha as the new holder but will also place a new international spotlight on Nigeria’s burgeoning beauty and creative industry. The attempt was designed to celebrate Nigerian creativity, consistency, and the strength of women in the global beauty sector.
