Nigeria πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬: Nigerian Actress Nkechi Blessing Dives Her $3,000 iPhone into Water to Silence Critics

Following a flurry of mocking comments from some of her social media followers about the authenticity of her device, popular Nigerian actress Nkechi Blessing has taken a dramatic step to prove her critics wrong. The star joined a viral social media trend, unequivocally demonstrating that her iPhone 14 Pro Max (valued around $3,000 or {₦}3{ million}) is not one of the cheaper "VeryDarkMan" or "Blord" replicas that have flooded the market.

In a video now circulating widely, the actress confidently displayed her extensive collection of Apple products before the main event: dunking her {₦}3 { million} smartphone into a bowl of water. The stunt was a risky move designed to showcase the iPhone's high-level water resistance, a feature often lacking in counterfeit models.

Nkechi Blessing accompanied the action with a bold challenge to her detractors.

“I am an Apple girl, as you can see. All my gadgets are Apple,” she stated in the video. “I no go let all of una wey dey buy this (iPhone) 17 wey I buy for 3 million, wey una dey buy am for N450K and N250,K and the N50k one wey I dey sell. I no go let una disrespect me. It is different."

She then referenced the origin of the trend, reportedly started by media personality Daddy Freeze, before issuing a direct dare: "Now, this Apple Challenge na Daddy Freeze start am. If they born una well, make una put una phone inside water like this,” she challenged, daring owners of unauthentic phones to replicate the act.

The high-stakes "Apple Challenge" highlights the growing public discussion in Nigeria concerning the proliferation of counterfeit luxury phones and the social status attached to owning genuine, high-end electronics. Nkechi Blessing's viral move is the latest celebrity response to the intense scrutiny over gadget authenticity on social media.
