Nearly a year after suffering a life-altering stroke, renowned rapper Da L.E.S is sharing his remarkable journey to recovery, delivering a powerful message of survival, strength, and renewed purpose.

In a candid YouTube video, the artist recounted the terrifying day his life irrevocably changed: July 26, his birthday. He revealed waking up a month later in a hospital bed, a moment that marked the beginning of his arduous recovery.

"People thought I was going to die, but I made it," he stated, emphasizing the profound impact the experience has had on him. This brush with death has ignited a desire to speak out and offer encouragement to others facing their own battles.

"I think right now it's to motivate people," Da L.E.S explained. "I think people want to know what’s wrong with me. I want to help people because sht is real. Sht can happen to anybody." He highlighted the unpredictable nature of life, noting, "One minute, you’re cool, you’re like me, and the next minute, you experience the worst."

Despite the immense challenges, Da L.E.S remains resolute in his determination to move forward. "I feel like my life has changed, but it isn’t the end. This is bigger than me and I’ve got to do this."

He described his recovery as a process requiring the surrender of control. "I’m going with the flow. When sh*t like this happens, it is nothing you can control. I’m lucky to be alive. Real talk. I feel good. I’m happy I’m still here."
