South Africa:Benjamin Dube Faces R1 Million Lawsuit Over Alleged Unpaid Verbal Agreement

 

Celebrated gospel artist and pastor Benjamin Dube is reportedly facing significant financial and legal challenges as an equipment and production company, Gearhouse, has initiated legal action against him for an alleged R1 million debt.

According to a letter of demand from Gearhouse, Dube is accused of failing to honor a verbal agreement for music equipment and technical services. The company alleges that Dube defaulted on payments for services rendered. Should the matter escalate, there is a possibility that the gospel veteran's assets could be seized to recover the outstanding amount.

The allegations were first reported by City Press, detailing that Dube was expected to pay for services received but allegedly failed to do so. Gearhouse is now actively pursuing the outstanding payment and is exploring all available legal avenues to recover the substantial sum.

This development adds another layer of controversy to Dube's recent headlines, following his unexpected departure from the popular Spirit of Praise collective. While his exit from the group had already sparked varied reactions online, the looming lawsuit presents a new challenge for the beloved musician.

Amidst these professional pressures, Dube recently shared a heartfelt tribute mourning the passing of his close friend, Dr. SD Gumbi. In a touching post, he wrote, "Oh, my Lord. We were truly honoured by God to have this gift. The African general Reverend Dr SD Gumbi will always be with us. Oh, man 💔💜🤍. This is a kingdom giant."
