Social Media Stir: VeryDarkMan Publicly Rejects Mercy Chinwo's Instagram Follow, Citing 'Evil' Association

Nigerian social media personality, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has ignited a fresh round of controversy with a stark public rejection of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, after she reportedly followed him on Instagram. In a fiery post, VeryDarkMan declared his intent to block the singer, stating, "I'm definitely going to block you. I don't associate myself with evil."

The dramatic public disavowal, which has since gone viral, saw VeryDarkMan directly tag Mercy Chinwo in a lengthy Instagram caption, explicitly asking her to withdraw her patronage and accusing her of "damage control."

His full post read:

"@verydarkblackman: With all due respect @mercychinwo do not think in your heart that I am those type of people, I can never on earth and after earth associate with the likes of you, will never stand with an oprzzzr I will never shine my teeth with oprrzzr, take your patronage to the people that needs it, and yes I see the damage control you are doing, thanks to your friends at @officialefcc you guys should finish the job y'all started but remember GOD CANNOT BE PLAYED,you can I!e to the world and get away with it but you can't I!3 to yourself and get away with it....Goodluck and excess love to you"

The reference to the "officialefcc" (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) in his post hints at underlying tensions or past events that VeryDarkMan links to the gospel artist. While the exact context of his accusations of "oppressor" and "damage control" remains unclear from the post itself, it suggests a deeper disagreement or ongoing public narrative that predates this Instagram interaction.

Mercy Chinwo, a celebrated gospel artist with a significant following, has yet to publicly respond to VeryDarkMan's remarks or clarify her intention behind following his account. Her social media pages currently show no direct reaction to the incident.

VeryDarkMan, known for his outspoken and often confrontational stance on various social and public figures, has consistently used his platform to air his strong opinions, often leading to widespread discussions and divided opinions among his followers. This latest exchange with a prominent gospel figure marks another high-profile controversy for the social commentator.

The incident has sparked considerable debate across Nigerian social media platforms, with fans and followers of both personalities weighing in on the unexpected public spat. Many are speculating about the precise reasons behind VeryDarkMan's strong words and the alleged "damage control" tactics he referenced. The interaction underscores the increasingly intricate and often volatile dynamics between public figures and social media commentators in Nigeria's digital space.
