On World Sickle Cell Day, Adekunle Gold Unveils the "5 Star Care" Initiative

Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold, better known by his stage name AG Baby, today announced "5 Star Care," a new healthcare program under his Adekunle Gold Foundation (AGF), in a major step to support people with sickle cell illness. The announcement takes place on June 19, which is World Sickle Cell Day every year. Chronic pain, exhaustion, and restricted blood flow are just a few of the serious health issues that can result from sickle cell disease, a genetic blood ailment that causes red blood cells to distort. Adekunle Gold, a sickle cell anaemia survivor, has been candid about his own experience with the illness, particularly with his 2022 hit song "5 Star."

The award-winning artist hopes to give 1,000 sickle cell patients free, full health insurance through the "5 Star Care" initiative. Essential medical requirements, such as regular checkups, emergency treatments, and continuing medical care, will be covered by this crucial program. The initiative aims to improve access to essential healthcare services for individuals in need and lessen the significant financial burden frequently connected to sickle cell disease management.
