Meltdown of "Money Charm": Gogo Skhotheni is charged with R50K fraud after preaching shift!
In yet another incident, controversial spiritual healer-turned-Christian preacher Gogo Skhotheni is accused of scamming a customer out of R50,000 for an unfulfilled "money charm." Her recent public announcement of a spiritual transition is clouded by the incident. Now, a disappointed customer is requesting a complete refund, claiming they spent a substantial amount for "Isigubhu Semali," a traditional charm said to draw wealth, but got nothing in return. Prominent blogger Musa Khawula revealed the complaint's specifics in a social media post on May 24, 2025.
"A customer demands a refund of R50,000 from Gogo Skhotheni," Khawula's post stated. "This comes after the desperate customer ordered and paid for Isigubhu Semali and Gogo Skhotheni has failed to honour her end of the deal and is now refusing to refund the customer."
A social media conflagration was swiftly sparked by the accusations. Many users questioned the customer's decision to spend such a large sum of money and the effectiveness of such charms. In particular, given her recent shift to Christian teaching, some were eager to condemn Gogo Skhotheni, accusing her of taking advantage of weak people for financial advantage. Debates over the accountability of public personalities, particularly those who assert spiritual power, and the methods of traditional healers are being rekindled by this most recent incident.
