"I Cooked for Nine Months": Writer Solomon Buchi Details Loving Gestures During Wife's Pregnancy

Nigerian writer and social commentator Solomon Buchi has offered a heartwarming glimpse into his supportive role during his wife's pregnancy. In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Buchi shared the thoughtful and loving actions he undertook to ease his wife's journey through those nine months.

Buchi's statements paint a picture of unwavering dedication and partnership. He revealed that he took on the primary responsibility for cooking throughout the entire pregnancy. "I cooked for all nine months of my wife's pregnancy," he wrote. "To be honest, I cook way more because she hates cooking."

His commitment extended beyond general care. When his wife was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and had to adhere to a specific diet, Buchi made a significant gesture of solidarity. "When she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and had to change her diet. I joined her in the diet just not to make her feel alone," he shared.

Furthermore, Buchi emphasized his consistent presence at crucial medical appointments. "I attended EVERY antenatal appointment because I didn't want her to feel alone. It was always convenient; sometimes I had to leave work meetings," he stated, highlighting his prioritization of his wife's well-being.

Beyond practical support, Buchi also focused on anticipating his wife's needs and indulging her interests. "My wife doesn't have to mention that she needs something twice, because she typically doesn't make material demands. I could use my last quid to buy her stuff," he affectionately noted. He even bonded with her over her favorite movie franchise, revealing, "I watched over 22 marvel movies because she's a fan and wanted to discuss them with me. We were dating then though."

Concluding his thread, Buchi offered a broader reflection on love and relationships. "And others I can't just list here. If a man loves you, you will know because he will always be willing to make things easier. Men move limits when they want to, but you have to be sure he's not pretending to like you."

Buchi's candid and affectionate account has resonated with many online, sparking discussions about the importance of mutual support and care in relationships, particularly during the demanding period of pregnancy. His actions serve as a touching example of partnership and devotion.
