Ghana:For alleged defamation, Empress Gifty is suing Nana Agradaa for GH₵20 million.

GH₵20 million defamation case filed in Tema High Court by renowned Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty Adorye against controversial self-styled evangelist Patricia Asiedua, also known as Nana Agradaa. Filed on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the lawsuit demands that all disparaging content be taken down from online sites and wants significant damages for claimed libel and slander.

Osei Aidoh Akpokavie and Co. filed the complaint, according to the court documents that Empress Gifty's husband, Hopeson Adorye, released. The complaint centres on a number of "offensive and unprintable accusations" that were purportedly directed at Empress Gifty via Nana Agradaa's Facebook page through a variety of posts and livestreams, even if the specifics of the claimed defamatory claims are still being kept under wraps.

Empress Gifty is seeking a "perpetual injunction" in her statement of claim to stop Nana Agradaa, her colleagues, or anyone else working on her behalf from publishing similar defamatory claims in the future, in addition to the substantial monetary compensation. Additionally, Nana Agradaa is being ordered by the court to "delete all videos and audios containing defamatory remarks about the plaintiff from all her social media platforms," according to the gospel singer. In addition, "costs, including legal fees incurred in the pursuit of justice" are requested in the lawsuit.

According to Empress Gifty's legal team, these ongoing attacks have negatively affected her career and reputation in Ghana's thriving music industry, which is why she is seeking legal action.
