Fans of Hajia 4Reall's return to fame are divided as she is set to be released from a U.S. prison.
According to reports, Ghanaian artist and socialite Mona Faiz Montrage, better known by her stage name Hajia 4Reall, is scheduled to be freed from a federal prison in the United States tomorrow, May 22, 2025, following the completion of her sentence for a conviction related to a romance scam. Fans' reactions to her upcoming return to Ghana have been conflicted; some are hoping for a return to the entertainment industry, while others are still critical.
at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Montrage spent a year and a day at the Federal Detention Centre. Her conviction resulted from her participation in a complex romantic fraud operation that defrauded people and businesses throughout the United States between 2013 and 2019.
The 32-year-old was given a federal prison sentence on June 28, 2024, along with orders to forfeit $216,475 and reimburse her victims $1,387,458 in reparations. On July 29, 2024, she willingly turned herself in to U.S. authorities to start serving her sentence.
According to exclusive rumours, which were first confirmed by FameBugs and Snapchat blogger SelTheBomb, Hajia 4Reall would be released in the next day. As part of a self-deportation deal negotiated by her legal team at the time of her sentencing, she is anticipated to return to Ghana soon after. When her sentence was served, a U.S. District Judge granted her attorneys' plea to have her passport released.
The court has ordered Montrage to serve a three-year supervised release period upon her arrival in Ghana. Many people are eagerly awaiting her comeback to the spotlight and are curious about what she plans to do next in the entertainment business.
