Bullgod's Bold 2026 TGMA Prediction: Black Sherif Tipped for Artist of the Year After King Promise Victory
Bullgod, also known as Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, is a well-known Ghanaian music executive, artiste manager, and media personality. He has predicted the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artist of the Year (AOTY) in advance.
Bullgod asserted on Saturday, May 17, 2025, on UTV's United Showbiz that his earlier "prophecy" that King Promise will win the 2025 AOTY title had come true, confirming his standing as a true spiritual authority in the entertainment industry.
Buoyed by his successful prediction, Bullgod confidently announced his choice for the renowned award's 2026 edition. The former dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale's manager seemed confident in his spiritual insight, implying that he is acting as a genuine prophet of Ghanaian music matters rather than just speculating.
Bullgod unleashed a barrage of criticism at fellow United Showbiz commentators, including Vida Adumtwumwaa and MC Yaa Yeboah.
He had previously predicted that King Promise would win the top prize, but both had disagreed. He went on to say that they disregarded his advice and attacked him and colleague analyst Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, who had also projected a King Promise victory, despite his attempts to steer them in the correct way.
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards were held in the Accra International Conference Center's Grand Arena. Favourite Story hitmaker King Promise, whose real name is Gregory Bortey Newman, won his first Artist of the Year award as the event came to a historic close.
His victory was particularly noteworthy because he had just lost the 2024 award to Stonebwoy. Rising star King Paluta and AOTY winner Stonebwoy were among the formidable opponents defeated by King Promise.
His statement:
My prophecy has been fulfilled. King Promise won just as I said, and now everyone knows I’m a true man of God
Let me prophesy again—next year, Black Sherif will win, I’ve already spoken it. Stonebwoy knew he wouldn’t win this year, so I don’t think he’ll be disappointed
The two of them have embarrassed themselves, they’ve soiled their reputations, and moving forward, they should remain silent whenever the TGMA is being discussed
