VeryDarkMan Offers Public Apology to Mercy Chinwo Amid Billion-Naira Lawsuit
Social media personality VeryDarkMan has issued a public apology to gospel singer Mercy Chinwo following the filing of a N1.1 billion lawsuit against him. The legal action stems from his recent social media posts alleging that Chinwo withheld performance earnings from her former record label, headed by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu (EeZee Tee).
The lawsuit, filed on March 3rd, cites VeryDarkMan's Instagram posts as the basis for the legal challenge. In response, VeryDarkMan took to his own Instagram account to address the situation, revealing that he is facing multiple lawsuits and expressing concern over his ability to meet the financial demands.
In a video posted online, VeryDarkMan appeared emotional, even tearful, as he appealed to Mercy Chinwo to reconsider the lawsuit amount. He jokingly sang snippets of her songs and pleaded for the amount to be reduced to N5 million, stating that it was a more manageable sum. "You all want to kill me," he said, indicating he does not have the amount of money being asked for. "I know this case is not one I can win, so it is better I tender an apology. Mercy, don't let the devil use you. I don't have N1bn to pay if you win. Please, I'm not saying you shouldn't sue, just reduce the money, maybe to N5m."
The apology, while containing elements of humor and sarcasm, signifies VeryDarkMan's recognition of the severity of the legal action against him.
