Timini Egbuson Calls for End to Celebrity Comparisons, Cites 15 Years of Hard-Earned Success

Nollywood star Timini Egbuson has publicly requested that fans and promoters refrain from using his name in comparisons with other celebrities, particularly after being repeatedly contrasted with fellow actor Efa Iwara.

Egbuson voiced his frustration with what he perceives as a tactic to boost the popularity of other actors by associating them with his established brand.

He expressed that these comparisons, often initiated for social media engagement, have become increasingly tiresome.

The actor emphasized that he has cultivated a loyal fanbase over his 15-year career and does not need such promotional strategies.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Egbuson stated, "I can smell a PR campaign from a mile away, and tbh, it’s getting boring. Push your fave in peace and leave my name out of the conversations. I’ve found my tribe, and they love my work. 15 years strong."

Essentially, Egbuson is asking his fans, and the public, to promote the actors they like, without bringing him into the discussion. He wants his name to be left out of comparisons that he feels are orchestrated for promotional purposes.
