Bianca Ojukwu Revives Memory of Obiano Slap with Cryptic Social Media Post

Three years after a dramatic altercation at a gubernatorial inauguration, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, widow of Biafran leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has brought the infamous incident back into the public eye. The incident, which saw her strike Ebelechukwu Obiano, wife of then-outgoing Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano, occurred during the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Charles Soludo on March 17, 2022.

Reports at the time detailed how Ebelechukwu Obiano approached Bianca Ojukwu and reportedly questioned her presence at the event, prompting the physical altercation. The incident created a significant disturbance at the high-profile event, with security quickly intervening.

While the precise reasons for the clash remained largely undisclosed, it was widely speculated that underlying political and personal tensions were at play. Bianca Ojukwu, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), had reportedly been involved in disputes with Ebelechukwu Obiano regarding party leadership.

Now, on the third anniversary of the incident, Bianca Ojukwu has reignited the controversy by posting a video of the altercation on her Instagram account. Accompanied by a cryptic message, she wrote, "NEVER TURN YOUR LAST DAY IN OFFICE INTO A PAINFUL EXIT…. As the saying goes, ‘Pink butterflies, especially those with oversized wings or inflated egos, must never fly too dangerously close to the flame.’ Exactly on this day, 17th March, in 2022, a certain individual under the influence decided to put this adage to the test. Trouble dey sleep….”

Her post has triggered a wave of renewed discussion on social media, with many recalling the dramatic moment and its impact on the political landscape of Anambra State. The reference to "pink butterflies" and "inflated egos" is widely interpreted as a direct reference to Ebelechukwu Obiano, further fueling the rekindled interest in the incident.
