Diva Gold: A Woman Empowered, Unintimidated by Success
Renowned Nigerian actress and content creator, Olukemi-Niyi Aluko, popularly known as Diva Gold, has expressed her views on gender dynamics and societal expectations. In a recent interview with Saturday Beats, she asserted that only a selfish man would feel threatened by a woman's success.
"Only a man that is selfish and gullible will be intimidated by a woman’s success. You should be happy that your woman is successful. There are so many women that if they are successful, the man becomes the luckiest man on earth," she stated.
When asked about her experiences with same-sex attraction, Diva Gold disclosed a past encounter where a woman expressed romantic interest in her. However, she clarified that she was not interested in pursuing such a relationship and maintained her distance.
Addressing her ability to convincingly portray older characters despite her young age, Diva Gold attributed her talent to both divine grace and hard work. She emphasized the importance of continuous learning and honing one's craft. "I would say its grace and God because there is no talent that I have that isn’t from God. If God gives me the talent and I don’t put in the work, it might be a waste. Aside from having the talent, I also put in the work. I watch other people too, and watch movies to add more skills to my talent. I am a versatile actor, I can pull off any role that I want to pull off," she explained.
Diva Gold's perspective on gender roles and her dedication to her craft serve as an inspiration to aspiring actors and women alike. Her ability to embrace diverse roles and challenge societal norms makes her a prominent figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
