VeryDarkMan Launches NGO to Reform Public Education, Seeks Public Support
Nigerian activist and social critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has launched a new Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) aimed at reforming Nigeria's public education sector. The NGO will utilize the talents of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to engage students and improve the overall quality of education.
In a detailed statement shared on social media, Otse expressed his deep concern about the current state of education in Nigeria, contrasting it with the more engaging and vibrant learning environment of the past. He highlighted the decline in the quality of education, attributing it to the dominance of older, less dynamic teachers in classrooms.
Otse emphasized the importance of mentorship in shaping young minds. He argued that students are more likely to be inspired by positive role models, and in the absence of such figures, they may be drawn to negative influences, such as cultism.
To address these challenges, Otse's NGO plans to deploy intelligent and capable NYSC members to public schools. These young professionals will engage students in a variety of activities designed to enhance their intelligence and overall academic experience. The ultimate goal is to restructure Nigeria's public education system to make it more engaging and effective.
However, Otse acknowledged that he cannot achieve this ambitious goal alone. He appealed to the public for support, emphasizing that he lacks the financial resources to pay the NYSC members who will be teaching. To address this, he plans to provide an NGO account number for donations, promising full transparency regarding how the funds are used.
Otse concluded by pledging to keep all supporters informed and ensure that every donation is accounted for. He expressed his hope that with the collective support of the public, his NGO can make a significant impact on the future of education in Nigeria.
