SOUTH AFRICA:DJ Fresh says Thabiso wouldn't have wanted him to cancel gigs.
Veteran broadcaster DJ Fresh, born Thato Sikwane, has announced that he will not be canceling any of his planned performances. This comes after the sudden death of his ex-wife and mother of his children, Thabiso Sikwane, on Saturday. The DJ shared on social media that he had a conversation with Thato Sikwane Jr, his eldest son, who encouraged him to continue with all his concert bookings in honor of their mother, as it is what she would have desired.
DJ Fresh revealed that Thato Jr told him, "Dad, I hope you will continue with your concert bookings because that's what Mom would want. Just make sure you represent her but please don't cancel the bookings." He added, "Just like she did when Wandy, our 15-year-old, was born. Wandy arrived a bit early, and I had a booking in Durban.”
I recall being busy trying to cancel that booking, and during the delivery, she [Thabiso] told me to go ahead with my bookings after the baby was born.
He stated, "I'm still unsure about it," adding that the family is awaiting the postmortem results. "We lost Thabiso this morning around 6.30am [Saturday]. We're informed it might have been a cardiac event, but the cause remains unclear, so we await the postmortem. We'll provide everyone with clarity as it doesn't make sense to anyone. We'll keep you updated on memorials and other arrangements.
