Seun explained that Fela supported a large community, even providing food for nearly a thousand people, which left no financial resources to pass on. Even as a student, Seun's stipend was more than his teacher's salary, highlighting the extent of his father's financial commitments.

In a recent Instagram live, Seun Kuti explained his lack of inheritance. He described their life at Kalakuta, Fela's community compound, which housed around 500 people. Fela's generosity meant he used potential inheritance money to support this large community. Everyone received daily allowances and weekly salaries, creating a self-sufficient society with various professions represented. Seun even highlighted the extravagance by revealing his own daily stipend as a child surpassed his teacher's salary in 1 990!
