Fireboy discusses the preference for collaboration instead of conflict in his partnership with Rema.

Nigerian vocalist Fireboy DML has elucidated why he and his counterpart Rema opted for collaboration instead of engaging in anticipated conflict by fans.

He mentioned that they made the choice because they are "progressive."

During an interview with Apple Music's Ebro, Fireboy stated, "Rema and I are the top two artists in our generation of Afrobeats. We decided to come together and recognize that rather than giving in to fans' desire for conflict, let's collaborate. We are beyond such things."

We didn't even create a typical club hit; we produced authentic music. We have five additional collaborations.

Fireboy and Rema were constantly compared on social media after rising to fame in the same year.

The comparisons diminished following Fireboy's inclusion of Rema on a track called "Compromise" from his third studio album, "Playboy".

The joint track signaled that they were in a positive relationship.
