Ayra Starr faces criticism from Nigerians for being touchy with Brazilian fans.

 After rejecting a Nigerian fan Jaywon from holding her, Ayra Starr faced criticism from Nigerians for being touchy with her SabiGays at an event in Brazil. During her performance on Friday at the C6 Festival in São Paulo, some LGBTQ supporters were observed holding signs that read “We Are Your Sabigays” and “We love You Ayra.”

A tribute to Ayra Starr's title, Sabi Girl, the self-referential term "Sabigays" is used by LGBTQ followers. After the event, @miketrindade, one of the LGBTQ fans with the X handle, shared photos from his meeting with Ayra Starr, captioning it, "Today I met my Starrrrrr @ayrastarr."

The post soon went viral, eliciting mixed feelings from fans, especially Nigerians. Ayra Starr also reposted it via her Instagram story.
